1976 Airstream Argosy

Overview

This 1976 Argosy came to us from New Jersey, and was gutted when we received it. The inner skins were missing so custom inner skins had to be created. We installed new insulation and replaced the original wiring. After installing the new interior skins, we completely rebuilt the interior to the customer's specifications. New plumbing was installed. The customer picked their fixtures and had them sent to our shop for installation. New herringbone flooring was installed when the cabinetry was completed. The customer ordered an incinerator toilet from the Netherlands. The shower pan was made from the same solid surface material as the countertops, with a custom glass shower door for a residential feel. Kitchen counter tops are made with Avonite solid surfacing. The bathroom doors have porthole windows with frosted glass to bring out the nautical theme, due to the owner being in the Coast Guard, and living in it full-time. All new upholstery was custom made by a local shop. The exterior was then stripped to bare aluminum and primed and painted with automotive paint. After completion, the customer brought their Argosy to Oregon and lives in it full-time.
